BACHELOR
OF SCIENCE (B.S.) IN PASTORAL STUDIES
Purpose
and Objectives
The Bachelor of
Science degree in Pastoral Studies is designed to train
young men preparing to be pastors. Students will be taught to love
the Lord and His Word and be trained to rightly divide the Word in
order to feed the flock. Students will be required to enter into
local churches to experience different kinds of ministries. The
emphasis of the program is both academic and practical, as
students learn in the classroom and then are guided and
encouraged to apply their knowledge in real ministry.
Upon completion of the program
the student will be able to: exhibit knowledge of the doctrine and
content of the scriptures; understand the pastoral duties of the
Lord's Supper, baptisms, funerals, weddings, and counseling; and
demonstrate skills in preparation and delivery of expository
sermons.
